Days 1-12: Songwriting Fundamentals
In this part of the class, Ryan walks through his start-to-finish songwriting process by writing an original song in real-time. He shares his entire range of core songwriting skills and techniques, including how he writes melodies, lyrics, and music, and how he arranges his songs. You will follow along with Ryan step-by-step and will end Part 1 with your own original song.
Days 13-23: End-to-End Music Production
In this part, Ryan dives much deeper into music production. He write and produce a second original song, this time a thick, fully-produced pop song that features a wide range of instruments, sounds, layers, and audio effects. You will follow along with Ryan step-by-step to write and produce a second original song that incorporates all of these production elements, leveling up your music production skills in the process.
Days 24-30: Collaboration & The Sound of an Artist
In the final part of the class, Ryan demonstrates how to write and produce a song with a collaborator. Ryan works with an artist in the studio in real time, explaining how he crafts a song that captures their personality and sound. You will write and produce a third and final song by collaborating with someone in your life, whether an artist, songwriter, singer, or friend.
